The Google Pixel 9 Pro feature drop in October 2024 coincides with the roll out of Android 15. It is fully loaded with exciting new features for Pixel phones, watches, tablets, and buds. The new features further enhance the ability to shoot more vibrant snorkelling or swimming moment moments using a waterproof case.
- Theft detection and protection Google brings a set of theft detection features on Pixel 6 and onwards devices. “Detection Lock” automatically locks the phone if it detects there is sudden movement, for example, snatch and run. “Remote Lock” will also lock the phone from elsewhere with the number and solving a quick security challenge. - Private Space for Sensitive Information Starting from Pixel 6, there will be a new private space that provides an additional, secure section on your phone where you can place your sensitive apps and photos. You can lock down this space separately with a different PIN and thus keep your personal information and apps safe and organized.
- Audio Magic Eraser This is available for the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 9 series. It helps users to fine-tune audio in their videos so that they can tweak specific sounds, mute background noise, and isolate voices giving them greater control over audio quality in video editing.
- Astrophotography mode Pixel 6 and later devices provide access to the Astrophotography mode through Night Sight directly so that it is easier to capture great long-exposure photos of the sky, stars, and the moon during nights.
- Another feature that only the Google Pixel 8 Pro, Google 9 Pro, and Google 9 Pro XL will boast is a new temperature sensor that can utilize the camera as a viewfinder in real-time readings and allows saving and referring to previous measurements of temperature.
- Adaptive vibration. A Pixel 7 or later, adaptive vibration changes the strength of vibration based on the noise level around it, so you never miss important notifications in noisy spaces and won’t disturb anyone in quiet ones.
- Gemini on Pixel Screens Screenshot: Google’s AI assistant, Gemini, can now help users find a screenshot they have taken.
